Looking for a fun and free family activity this summer? Here at Gordale Garden & Home Centre, we’re excited to welcome families to our Mini Gardeners’ Trail — a self-guided outdoor adventure designed especially for children under 10.
Using our specially created trail booklet, little explorers can follow the route around Gordale at their own pace while discovering wildlife, flowers, plants, and hidden natural treasures along the way.
A Self-Guided Adventure Around Gordale
Our Mini Gardeners’ Trail is designed to be simple, interactive, and easy for families to enjoy together. Once you’ve picked up your free trail booklet, children can follow the clues, activities, and nature facts as they explore different areas around the garden centre.
The booklet guides families around the trail while encouraging children to look closely at the world around them — from buzzing insects and colourful flowers to birds, ponds, and fascinating plants.
Meet Gordon the Gardener
Throughout the booklet, children will be joined by Gordon the friendly gardener, who helps guide them through the trail with fun facts about gardening, wildlife, and nature.
We created the Mini Gardeners’ Trail to inspire curiosity, encourage outdoor play, and help families spend quality time together while enjoying the outdoors.
How to Take Part
Joining the trail couldn’t be easier — and it’s completely free.
Families can collect a Mini Gardeners’ Trail booklet from:

- The Plant Information Station
Once you’ve got your booklet, simply follow the trail and enjoy exploring Gordale together.
The trail is available daily throughout the summer, making it perfect for school holidays, weekend visits, or spontaneous family days out.
