Beautiful Pots Now, Spring Colour Later
Planting bulbs is all about looking forward to what’s to come – but while they’re tucked away beneath the soil, freshly planted containers can look a little bare.
In our second video, Karen talks about layering bulbs in pots, planting the taller varieties deepest, followed by medium and smaller bulbs nearer the top. This allows you to pack plenty of spring colour into one container.
And Karen has a lovely idea for enjoying your pots in the meantime too.
Using cut flowers from the garden and a little floral oasis, you can add instant colour to the top of a freshly planted container, creating a welcoming display while your bulbs are getting ready beneath the soil.
🎥 Watch Karen explain her idea below.
Your Spring Garden Starts Now
Planting bulbs might not give you instant results, but as Karen says, wait until spring!
A little time spent planting now can reward you with pots and borders filled with colour when the garden begins to wake up again.
You’ll find a wide selection of spring-flowering bulbs, garlic and onion sets in store at Gordale Garden & Home Centre, along with plenty of inspiration for creating your own combinations.
