Karen, our horticulturalist, is a familiar face at Gordale! As well as delivering the plant ‘know-how’ talks in-store, throughout August, she also runs the creative workshops during the programme of Children’s Summer Activities. These sessions are ideal for younger guests that enjoy making things, so why not join us this summer for crafts with Karen?
Tickets are £8 per child and £1 per adult. There’s limited availability for each session, so we recommend that you book tickets at your earliest convenience, as they are popular and sell out quickly.

From bird boxes to bird feeders, learn more about our feathered friends.
Cupcake Decorating (Fri 9th Aug, 11am)
Create your own cupcake design with icing, chocolate, sweets and sprinkles!
Sun, Sea & Sand (Tues 15th Aug, 11am)
Create a miniature seaside landscape, complete with a ceramic lighthouse.
Unicorns & Dragons (Fri 16th Aug, 11am)
There’s lot to do at this magical event – paint a coin bank, add a fairytale backdrop and make an enchanting mask.
Mini Gardens (Fri 23rd Aug, 11am)
Paint a toadstool and create your own mini garden for fairies and gnomes, complete with compost, gravel and flowers.
Bee Happy! (Wed 28th Aug, 11am)
Learn all about growing flowers to attract bees, enjoy honey tasting and make a beeswax candle to take home.
